It was launched by the cultural "The Circus Art" Venosa, in collaboration with the Artistic Management, The second edition of Five Continents Film Festival, short film competition falling within the billboard eleventh Festival of the Five Continents. The film event will be divided into several evenings of projections, that will take place in different times and places in the period between July and September 2015, and will conclude with a final evening, scheduled for next autumn, during which will be the awarding of the winning short.
The Festival of the Five Continents, traveling show of shows and art, is by nature a meeting place of different cultures and peoples, in which the comparison is stimulated, enhanced diversity, encouraged dialogue, promoted knowledge, promoted multiculturalism. The Five Continents Film Festival aims to make known to the public, through the instrument of the short film, traditions and customs of the peoples of the world and giving prominence to every cultural expression with its own specific characteristics. Participation in the festival is free and open to any genre short films, style, budget or language. Short films with a duration of three twenty minutes, made after 1 January 2011. The deadline for entries is fixed to 30 June 2015, date by which you can submit your short film and send the appropriate form of participation. You can send your short film by WeTransfer, Vimeo or through various platforms of short films online.
The organization of the festival will select twenty short films, which will be screened during the various evenings of the event, organized in prestigious locations and historical. For each evening a jury will decide the winning short film of the stage, that will access the right to final. During the closing evening will be the announcement of the winning short, chosen among the finalists short films according to the final judgment of a panel of experts in film. Author of the work will be presented the award of the festival, consisting of a plexiglass sculpture designed and created by the artist Carlo Massimo Franchi. Other awards or special recognition will be given to short films or actors particularly deserving.
The first edition of the festival, held in 2014, excel saw the film "Margaret" by director Calabrian Alexander the Great, rewarded for having been able to deal gently theme of confrontation and coexistence of different cultures, through a story unexpected outcome that can point the way of art as a possible means to bring people.
