Basilicata Gospel Festival: Starting in the second edition
Four Lucan villages are home to the Christmas event dedicated to gospel music
The Cultural Association "The Circus Art" of Venosa, Basilicata presents the second edition of the Gospel Festival, a large international event that will bring the energy and the best voices of American gospel music in the beautiful scenery Lucan, through a series of concerts by the 20 to the 26 December will involve the villages of Satriano di Lucania, Rib, Castelgrande and Venous.
Under the artistic direction of "Artistic Management" Pasquale Cappiello, that always produces events of great originality and international flavor, the Basilicata Gospel Festival aims to promote the cultural growth of the community and to contribute to the promotion of tourism during the winter, bringing the joy and spirituality that only gospel music can convey some important sacred places in the territory of Lucania.
The gospel is the kind of music that finds its roots deeper into the sounds and rhythm of Africa and which has established itself in America as religious music, now intensely joyful hours deep and overwhelming. And it is coming directly from the United States the protagonists of Basilicata Gospel Festival: 4 Love Gospel Quartet, female voices and piano quartet from Atlanta, who will be performing in Satriano di Lucania and Rotate; the sextet from Chicago Bridgette Campbell Group, propose that the concert in Castelgrande; Michael M. Smith & Friends, Virginia sextet from the much awaited for the stage of Venosa.
The edition 2013 of Basilicata Gospel Festival is more rich and structured than the previous, and for the participation of a wider cast of artists and for the involvement of a greater number of centers in Basilicata. The timing of the event will be divided into four dates: the 20 dicembre a Satriano di Lucania (PZ), at the Old Church (beginning of the concert hours 19.00), the 21 December to Rotate (PZ), at the Mother Church (hours 19.30), the 22 December Castelgrande (PZ) at the Cathedral Church of S. Maria Assunta (hours 19.00) and finally the 26 December Venosa (PZ), at the Cathedral of S. Andrea (hours 20.00).
The four concerts, all with free admission, will be an opportunity for the public to enjoy an unforgettable experience, made of fun and spirituality, that will involve the audience in an explosion of music and party, able to directly affect the soul, right there where it starts and finishes singing gospel.
